Linen & Lea

What is linen? 

Linen is a natural textile made from the fibers of the flax plant. It's known for its durability, breathability, and moisture-wicking properties.

Why do you use European linen? 

European linen offers superior quality due to ideal growing conditions and adheres to strict environmental regulations.

What does "lea" mean in linen fabric? 

Lea is a measurement of linen yarn fineness. It indicates the number of yards of yarn per pound of linen. The higher the lea number, the finer and lighter the fabric. Check out our dedicated blog on What’s Lea?

How does the lea number affect the fabric? 

Higher lea numbers like 60 result in a softer, more lightweight fabric. Lea numbers like 44 produce a sturdier, more textured fabric.

Is higher lea linen always better? 

Not necessarily. The choice between different lea numbers depends on the intended use. Higher lea linen is great for lightweight garments, while lower lea linen is excellent for items that need extra durability.

What's the difference between 44 lea and 60 lea linen?
